re-signed offensive lineman Michael Niese Tuesday, the first day of the team’s offseason program.

An exclusive-rights free agent, Niese appeared in all 17 games last season, seeing time on offense and special teams. He was tendered by the team in March and the team was able to officially sign him Tuesday.

Niese will enter his third season with the Lions, joining the team in 2023 and spending the season on the practice squad. He has also spent time with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He came into the league in 2022 with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Temple.

Niese will continue being a depth piece on the interior offensive line, including backing up center Frank Ragnow.
