The much-anticipated 2025 NFL Draft has arrived! Following extensive preparations, assessments, discussions, consultations, dialogues, training sessions, and familiarization with potential draftees, all 32 NFL franchises have gathered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the most significant event on their calendar.
The
Tennessee Titans
We have eight selections (assuming no trades occur) in this year’s draft, and below we’ll offer immediate insights for every pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
On the opening day of the draft, the Titans possessed the top-overall selection at number one. They utilized this choice to address their most critical requirement: securing a quarterback.
Round 1 (No. 1): Cam Ward, quarterback from Miami
When using their first-overall draft selection, the Titans went with what was widely anticipated: choosing Miami quarterback Cam Ward. This move significantly bolsters Tennessee’s offensive capabilities, putting pressure on Will Levis to step up his game if he hopes to challenge Ward for the starting position.
Starting with no stars as a recruit coming out of high school, Ward has consistently gotten better at each level he’s played at, leading up to his finest season yet at Miami. His strong throwing arm, precision passes, knack for maneuvering beyond the pocket, extending drives, along with his sharp football intelligence, have all been sharpened by an unyielding commitment to working hard. All those efforts from previous years finally bore fruit, making it clear that the Titans made the right choice by retaining their first-round draft spot and adding Ward to their roster in Nashville.
Round 2 (No. 52): Oluwafemi Oladejo, EDGE, UCLA
The Titans moved back from selection number 35, handing over
Seattle Seahawks
That selection was made while shifting back to the No. 52 spot and incorporating an additional third-round choice. This move boosted the Titans’ total number of picks from eight to nine, enabling them to choose the highly required edge rusher from UCLA, Oluwafemi Oladejo.
Oladejo’s athletic ability brings a vibrant force to the defensive line that the Titans desperately needed in 2024. While the center of the line remained strong with Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat, the team struggled significantly with their run defense, which became quite evident.
Oladejo will need some development to hone his skills at the edge, but Dennard Wilson is adept at developing players and will have him ready in no time.
