Students Gain Unique Insights Into Tech Industry in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) —

On Wednesday, local high school students received an engaging, hands-on glimpse into tech-related careers during what is known as CIS Day at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre.

Over 200 students gathered with approximately 30 technology firms to connect with leading regional employers and gain direct insights into job opportunities.

Students from Graham Academy have taken control of key roles in Wilkes-Barre.

The activities were not just theoretical; students participated in a technology-inspired edition of Monopoly, tackled challenges in an “ICT Escape Room,” and deciphered hidden code-words as well.

Questions were rewarded with “Monarch Money” which could be exchanged for prizes.

This annual occurrence, marking its five-year milestone, aims to motivate additional youth to chase futures within the tech industry.
