Nebula’s New X1: The Liquid-Cooled 4K Portable Projector

While having a fixed projector installed in your home theater is delightful, the convenience of a portable one is just as beneficial. This allows you to create a spontaneous large-screen experience in your backyard during those beautiful long summer nights.

Additionally, they have a hint of inferior quality or compromise, featuring weaker audio and visual capabilities. The company Nebula aims to address this problem with their newest high-end portable projector, the X1. This device is engineered to deliver the strength and performance typically associated with home projectors within a compact, transportable design.

The X1 features a triple-laser setup offering 4K UHD visuals enhanced by Dolby Vision technology along with 3,500 ANSI lumens brightness, sufficient to project onto screens as large as 300 inches. This device can be positioned on various surfaces such as stands, tables, or floors; additionally, it has an adjustable tilt capability allowing angles up to 25 degrees so you can align it perfectly with your viewing area. Inside the casing lies a 14-element glass assembly designed to maintain consistent picture quality throughout the lifespan of the product according to the manufacturer. The projector also boasts adaptability thanks to its optical zoom feature enabling projection sizes ranging from 13 to 22 feet across when displaying content on a screen up to 200 inches wide.

One major drawback of most projectors is typically their audio quality; however, Nebula believes this concern has been addressed too. The X1 comes equipped with four front-facing internal speakers. Additionally, for an extra fee, customers can obtain a set of two wireless 20-watt satellite speakers featuring integrated batteries. These satellites connect wirelessly via Wi-Fi to the X1 and boast an estimated battery duration of eight hours each. Moreover, these portable units meet IP54 standards, ensuring they remain functional even when unexpected weather conditions arise during outdoor viewing sessions.

Nebula takes pride in announcing that the X1 marks their initial foray into offering a portable projector equipped with an internal liquid cooling system. This feature is typically found in more premium stationary models, and according to Nebula, integrating this technology helps reduce fan noise to just 26 dB. Whether this low level of sound will be appreciated depends on how discerning your acquaintances’ ears might be since they have the option to purchase a set of wireless karaoke microphones boasting up to 40 hours of battery life.

The remaining specifications include standard features such as the X1 model equipped with Google TV along with two HDMI ports, one featuring eARC connectivity. This device will hit shelves in the U.S. starting June 20 at a price point of $2,999; meanwhile, purchasing just the accessories kit alone costs an additional $999. However, bundling them together brings down the total cost to $3,298. In the UK market, things look quite alike: The unit becomes purchasable from May 21 onwards priced at £2,199.99. If bought separately, the accessory package stands at £500. Yet, placing your orders within the window spanning from May 21 until June 15 grants you access to both items bundled up for only £2,350.
