Furthermore, the platform intends to conceal sexually explicit or pornographic imagery generated by artificial intelligence involving celebrities and actual individuals throughout Civitaï. The site allows users to share their AI-created works. As stated by the website, content featuring minors will not appear in user feeds.
When the nudity and pornographic image search feature is enabled, Civitai will automatically block celebrity names in queries as well.

The platform prohibits CSAM, explicit violence, and material used for deception and identity theft. However, they felt compelled to enhance their regulations even more, stating: “Websites such as ours are now subject to stricter benchmarks concerning security, compliance, and responsibility.”
“We’ve consistently aimed to foster an environment of innovation, creativity, and openness; however, certain adjustments must be made to ensure ongoing operations, expansion, and user protection. These modifications are crucial for sustaining the service and safeguarding the platform’s future,” the statement reads.
Still, the new rules are sparking concerns about
censorship
. The new terms of service also ban content that depicts hate or self-harm, including anorexia and bulimia. Graphic or sexual imagery that contains firearms pointed at individuals, those in drug-intoxicated states, or illegal substances are also prohibited.
A further stipulation requires users to “add generational metadata” for images containing nudity or pornography, allowing others to track the creation process of the AI-generated imagery. The website also states, “Content that violates our Terms of Service will be deleted after 30 days.”
