During this event, fans warmly received several vintage-style personalization settings. In response, Sony plans to reintroduce these nostalgic themes—covering all four generations from the initial PlayStation up until the fourth iteration—to enable gamers to personalize their PS5 main screens according to preferences evocative of earlier eras.
One significant aspect of this update revolves around audio focus, designed to enhance immersion through adjustable settings that boost quieter noises. It enables gamers to fine-tune these softer tones according to individual auditory tastes for improved clarity during headphone or headset use. By activating this option, individuals gain access to multiple pre-set choices facilitating better recognition of elements like dialogues between game characters, delicate sound cues including footfalls and swishing vegetation, along with vocal exchanges within group chat sessions. To locate this function, navigate to Settings > Sound > Volume > Audio Focus.
Initially, there are four predefined focus types available:

Boost Low Pitch:
Enhance deep bass sounds such as growling motors and throbbing noise. -
Boost Voices
: Amplify voice chats, character voices, and other middle-frequency sounds. -
Boost High Pitch:
Amplify high-frequency sounds like footsteps and metallic noises. -
Boost Quiet Sounds:
Enhance quiet noises across various frequency levels.
For every preset category, individuals have the option to specify the degree of assistance as either Weak, Medium, or Strong. Additionally, they may opt to modify the amount of support individually for both the Left and Right audio channels. The feature known as Audio Focus is exclusively accessible with headphones linked through USB or an analog connection; this functionality does not work over HDMI links via televisions, amplifiers, or speakers.
