“Hello Meta”: Innovative AI Features Launch in Ray-Ban Smart Glasses

, in collaboration with Meta, are receiving multiple advanced AI updates specifically for users in the US and Canada.

a connected smartphone
, users of Ray-Ban

Will also have the ability to utilize the “Hey Meta, initiate live AI” command to provide Meta AI with a real-time view of what they are observing through their eyewear.

Similar to
Google’s Gemini demo
Users will have the ability to pose interactive queries to Meta AI regarding what it observes and potential solutions to issues. For instance, Meta AI could suggest alternatives for butter after examining your pantry contents.

Even in the absence of live AI, you can still pose precise queries regarding items you are observing.

Along with fresh seasonal designs, Ray-Ban’s smart spectacles will support the “Hey Meta, initiate live translation” command for translating incoming speech in various languages such as English, French, Italian, and Spanish. As others speak, the glasses’ audio output will provide translations, and you can display a written version of these translations on your phone for them to read.

In addition to these AI enhancements, the intelligent glasses will have the capability to upload content directly to Instagram or dispatch a message via Messenger using specific vocal instructions. They will also feature updated interoperability with
music streaming services

Meta has announced that the deployment of these new features will take place during the spring and summer months. Additionally, EU users can expect updates related to object recognition to be rolled out next week.
