According to the plan, the layoffs are part of a broader strategy to refocus on engineering culture.
The reported cuts come after a new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, took over the reins of Intel last month.
Reuters recently reported Lip-Bu Tan was planning an overhaul of the company’s manufacturing and AI operations after it lost its lead in chipmaking to a company in Taiwan.
