Just because you’re tiny, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a big voice. One little guy seems to have learned early on that the way to get attention is to deploy the bark of a much bigger dog.
In a video uploaded to TikTok by houseofsausage (what a name!), one Dachshund is letting his siblings know he is not happy about being left out of the fun of opening a present.
Take a listen and then tell me you too wouldn’t do whatever this
Dachshund
dictates.
Is this a doggie temper tantrum? What is going on?
From the caption we learn that this Dachshund, the youngest in the family, has “intense FOMO (fear of missing out)” and doesn’t like being left out of anything. Can’t blame him, right? No one wants to think their friends or family are having a ball without him.
He sure isn’t shy about vocalizing his displeasure. And, wow, it’s effective. As the caption notes, “the way they jumped when he barked.”
Yes, indeed! This tiny tyrant stops them in their tracks. Too funny!

Apparently, this behavior isn’t uncommon for this breed.
A fellow Dachshund parent writes, “Omg!!! My Dachshund is like this. she cries and howls every time she sees her other siblings getting treats and she doesn’t.”
To be fair, that makes sense, and it’s something parents see among their non-four-legged children as well. It’s often difficult for younger siblings when it’s an older brother or sister’s birthday and they’re forced to watch all presents (and attention) go to someone else. Even having the honor of blowing out birthday candles can start a small war.
It sounds like this Dachshund has found his voice and won’t be left out in the future—and if he is, his siblings will definitely hear about it!
