Tennessee football offers transfer wide receiver with five 50-plus-yard games in 2024

McNeese State junior wide receiver Jer’Michael Carter entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday. He received a scholarship offer from Tennessee on Wednesday.

“Tennessee offered,” Carter
announced
. He also has offers from Utah, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Colorado State, UConn,
Oklahoma
, West Virginia and Virginia Tech since entering the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4, 184-pound wide receiver appeared in 16 games from 2023-24 at McNeese State. He totaled 40 receptions for 593 yards and three touchdowns. Carter recorded 37 receptions, 537 yards and three touchdowns, while averaging 44.8 yards per contest in 2024.

Carter also recorded five 50-plus-yard performances in 2024, including a game-high 108 yards. His longest reception was 36 yards.

Carter is from Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Louisiana. He did not have any recruiting rankings from 247Sports as a 2023 prospect.

The NCAA transfer portal spring window will remain open through Friday. Tennessee received a transfer from
UCLA
quarterback
Joey Aguilar
during the spring window. Aguilar’s commitment to the Vols came after redshirt sophomore quarterback
Nico Iamaleava
transferring from Tennessee to the Bruins.
