MOBILE, Ala. (

) — Men United Against Violence is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone offering information to police about the deadly Sage Park shooting that leads to an arrest and conviction.
A woman was shot and killed at Sage Park
in Mobile last week, and a local activist thinks someone out there knows something about the shooting.
John Young with Men United Against Violence believes the only way to get justice for Thursday’s shooting is for people to come forward to police.
“Not another black woman gunned down in the streets in Mobile,” Young said.
“It can’t be done alone by law enforcement and government,” Young said. “We must stand up and name who did it.”
Frenicka Craig, 28, was killed, and a man was injured as people gathered to watch a basketball game.
“The reality is, even if there is a chance of retaliation, don’t we stand a better chance of putting these people in jail than living in fear that we can’t go to the mall,” Young said. “We can’t go to a basketball game. We can’t go to a football game, a high school game. Isn’t there a greater fear when we don’t confront foul brute beasts, violent urban terrorists? So if you know something, say something.”
Young told

that with the summer months approaching, the community must do their part to make the city safer.
This message was echoed earlier this week
as Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson stood alongside the police chief, sheriff and other leaders. They vowed to do more to stop the violence.
Their plan includes making sure cameras are not only installed but also working at Sage Park and other locations.
The cameras at Sage Park were not recording the night of the deadly shooting.
Investigators do not think the victims were the targets of the shooting, but they were innocent bystanders.
