GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The City of Green Bay has introduced its inaugural all-battery-operated bus. This new model was showcased on Monday at a dedicated press event held before this week’s NFL Draft celebrations.
The zero-emission bus marks a considerable advancement in the city’s initiative to encourage sustainable transportation, offering a more pristine and hushed experience for both locals and visiting guests.
We plan to utilize this extensively during the launch of our draft route. We’ll be deploying it starting today, so you’ll notice it circulating,” stated Patty Kiewitz, director of Green Bay Metro Transit. “Its main focus initially will be the route connecting downtown with Titletown for the draft event.
Officials say an additional five electric buses are expected to join Green Bay’s transit fleet in the coming years.
