Just after a 10+2 qualification, one can enter this profession, though it’s suggested to have at least a graduate qualification which assists in handling the nitty-gritty of this profession.
Personal Skills
Personal attributes are the most important factors for the success of any model. Key attributes required to become a model are a good and healthy complexion coupled with lustrous hair. Female Modelling aspirants should ideally be at least five feet and seven inches tall. As for men, the taller they are the better for them. Being photogenic is also one of the key attributes. Camera-friendly attitude, plenty of self-confidence and grace while showcasing the products, are all vital in earning a name in this profession.
Salary Package
Generally, a male model can begin his career with a starting salary of Rs. 6000-10,000 per show and for female models, it is around Rs.10, 000 per show. Many model coordinators provide Modelling assignments on a commission basis, which is usually in the bracket of 15% to 20% per assignment. Once established in the industry, the models can earn up to Rs. 2-5 lakhs for a television advertisement.
