Revised on April 23, 2025, by Andrew Scariati:
The finest Temporal Forces cards have stabilized after significant market fluctuations, though they’ve undergone some shifts. Although the leading five positions stay constant, new arrivals are emerging to take their place alongside the priciest Temporal Forces sought-after cards.
Deerling – Illustration Rare
Market Price: $17.28
Deerling began with a humble beginning, featuring this array of stunning hues.
Could once be obtained for less than five dollars.
As Temporal Forces starts increasing in worth alongside numerous contemporary cards, this particular Deerling has experienced a significant surge in price, multiplying fourfold to linger near the $20 range.
It’s challenging to determine whether this card’s popularity surge can be attributed to the overall robust performance of contemporary trading cards in the current bullish market or if it possesses genuine enduring appeal. However, one thing is clear: Deerling boasts some of the most distinctive artwork within Temporal Forces, a quality matched solely by its evolved form.
Eri – Unique Illustration Premium
Market Price: $18.19
Eri makes a comeback as one of the most crucial Temporal Forces chase cards due to a recent surge that revitalized this high-energy Special Illustration Rare card. In terms of design, Eri outshines others with her dynamic scene, presenting an assertive artistic approach along with a striking array of vivid hues to appreciate.
Eri’s journey has been tumultuous, as she fell from $34 around launch to roughly $14 at her low. However, Eri is slowly creeping back toward the 20s, as she broke the barrier once before, and aims to rise above and stay there on her next journey.
Iron Boulder ex – Special Illustration Rare
Market Price: $19.26
Up next is the Special Illustration Rare Iron Boulder ex card. As a Fighting-type Pokémon, it packs quite a punch along with stunning artwork. The first move, called Repulsor Axe, inflicts 60 damage using only two energy cards, making it a decent exchange; however, this attack also initiates a delayed condition that activates if Iron Boulder ex would be hit with damage during your opponent’s following turn.
Should they inflict harm via an attack, even if it defeats Iron Boulder Ex, you place eight damage counters on the Pokémon responsible for the knockout. This serves as a significant hindrance, potentially dealing up to 140 damage across two turns if your adversary decides to launch an assault.
Metagross – Illustration Rare
Market Price: $19.59
After initially lingering around and sometimes dipping below the ten-dollar threshold for most of its early days, Metagross experienced a significant surge upward in the rankings. Once it climbed into the double-digit range, it appeared settled at those levels. However, due to unusual market activity, the value of this card skyrocketed all the way to $40.
The abrupt change in pricing was probably due to market manipulation where a cohort of people purchased all copies of the card before reselling them at an increased, predetermined price.
Fortunately, Metagross’ cost has become stable after experiencing significant fluctuations, and it appears poised to remain near the $20 level for some time ahead, barring any unexpected events that could cause another dramatic shift.
Sawsbuck – Illustration Rare
Market Price: $21.83
There is only one card that rivals the grandeur of the Deerling IR, and predictably, it’s its evolved form, Sawsbuck. Despite not being very popular Pokémon, both Sawsbuck and Deerling boast some of the most sought-after chase cards as Illustration Rares due to their distinctive designs.
In the games,
These Pokémon exhibit varying hues across their bodies based on which season it is currently.
This piece of art beautifully captures that distinctive characteristic through the use of four vivid hues representing the shifting seasons. The card Sawsbuck has surged in value from less than ten dollars to nearly $25, and shows few signs of this trend decelerating anytime soon.
Gengar EX – Ultra Rare
Market Price: $23.01
Gengar has long been cherished as one of the most reliably valuable Pokémon in the Trading Card Game, as demonstrated by
Its collection of extremely precious cards.
Although this Ultra Rare has some of the most basic artwork among all the pricey Temporal Forces chase cards, sometimes minimalism leads to exceptional design.
Upon release, this Gengar fluctuated around the $15 price point but has since gained enough traction to surpass the $20 threshold. It’s uncommon for us to come across a Gengar card featuring the accompanying red backdrop, and having those colors mirrored in its eyes serves as a fantastic enhancement, making the card particularly distinctive.
Bianca’s Loyalty – Unique Artwork Rarity
Market Price: $26.62
Another
Unique Illustration Special Trainer Card,
“Bianca’s Devotion” stands out not only as an effective restoration tool but also as stunning artwork cherished by collectors. This card can heal all damages for one of your Pokémon provided they have 30HP or fewer remaining, offering a limited opportunity yet possibly rescuing a crucial Pokémon from being defeated.
This piece of art depicts the Pokémon Black and White rival unconscious as the sunset occurs, with her Musharna tenderly watching over her visions during her slumber.
Iron Leaves EX – SpecialIllustrationRare
Market Price: $33.05
As one of the prominent figures in Walking Wake, Iron Leaves receives a special card that showcases the Future Paradox Pokémon apparently exploring an extraterrestrial landscape, with a huge, unfamiliar moon visible in the background.
You can inflict a significant 180 points of damage using its Prism Edge move; however, it won’t be able to attack during the following turn after employing this technique. Should you possess an efficient system for continuously switching out your Pokémon and consistently returning them to your hand, you could establish quite a beneficial pattern of dealing damage without needing many cards.
Gastly – Illustration Rare
Market Price: $37.38
Feel free to share your thoughts on this Gastly card and the scenario portrayed, but one cannot deny that any card featuring Gengar is sure to draw eyes – take Morty’s Conviction for example. Even though it falls under the category of Illustration Rare, this card boasts numerous intricate details and companionship with notable characters, which could easily warrant its recognition as an honorary SIR.
So far, Gastly’s pricing history reflects a card that experienced significant surges because of excitement but then settled down when other cards captured the interest of collectors. Nonetheless, Gastly remains prominent, having surpassed earlier peaks around the $25 mark to rise into the mid-to-high 30s.
Gouging Fire Ex – Unique Illustrated Premium Rarity Card
Market Price: $49.59
Among the most visually striking Special Illustration cards, Gouging Fire ex doesn’t just offer an impressive depiction of what Entei’s primeval forebear could have looked like; it also features a formidable move that you can repeatedly utilize with some additional maneuvers.
Despite the resemblance, you won’t find this SIR among
the most valuable Entei cards,
as they are completely distinct Pokemon.
Flame Flash is an incredibly potent move, strong enough to defeat numerous Basic and Stage 1 Pokémon by delivering 260 points of damage in a single strike. Despite the downside of not allowing further use of this attack until after leaving and returning to the Active Position, you can utilize cards such as Prime Catcher to reactivate it without cost.
Morty’s Conviction – Unique Illustrated Rare Card
Market Price: $52.13
An intriguing draw spell that exploits your opponent’s board position, Morty’s Conviction is not ideal for playing early in the match. Actually, without proper caution, you might wind up at a disadvantage in terms of card advantage if played under unfavorable conditions.
As an additional cost to play Morty’s Conviction, you must discard a card from your hand; however, this lets you draw one card for each of your opponent’s benched Pokémon. In total, you could potentially draw up to five cards, which turns out quite well overall.
Special Illustrated Rarity – Walking Wake Ex
Market Price: $56.86
Yet another impressive Special Illustration Rare card, Walking Wake now takes center stage alongside Temporal Forces. Thanks to its unique ability called Azure Wave, your opponent won’t be able to evade or overlook the harm inflicted by Walking Wake EX, ensuring every attack lands effectively.
It will deal 120 damage with Cathartic Roar, doubling that damage if your opponent’s Active Pokemon has a Special Condition like Confused or Poison. Keep up the pressure with cards that can put status effects on your opponent’s Pokemon and set them up for a 1-2 punch with Walking Wake ex.
Iron Crown ex – Unique Illustrated Rare Card
Market Price: $59.58
Pokemon takes on the Vaporwave aesthetic with the Future Pokemon Iron Crown ex’s Special Illustration Rare card. Not only does it feature some amazing artwork, but it also slots right into any deck that has an Ancient theme.
Iron Crown ex’s ability, Cobalt Command, boosts your Future Paradox Pokemon’s attacks by a respectable 20 points of damage, though it doesn’t affect itself. This ability stacks too, so if you have multiples out in play, you will deal 20 bonus damage for each Iron Crown ex in play.
Raging Bolt ex – Special Illustration Rare
Market Price: $94.87
This Ancient Pokemon has two exceptionally powerful attacks along with a stunning Special Illustration Rare to make it a chase card from Temporal Forces. Raging Bolt ex’s first attack, Bursting Roar, has you discarding your hand to draw a new six cards, which is solid in a pinch.
This impressive SIR deserves its spot as
The highest valued Raging Bolt card
So far, this depiction stands out due to its stunning scenery. Although every Pokémon in this collection showcases lovely natural settings, none combine hues and outstanding illumination as effectively as this Raging Bolt does.
