TED is a not-for-profit organization that unites people with the aim of sharing insights and fostering discussions by producing concise, impactful talks frequently referred to as ‘TED Talks.’ The primary objective is to motivate both individuals and groups to act upon these concepts via numerous initiatives.
TEDx events are independently run and organized at the local level.
to highlight community-led work.
The central idea of this TEDx event is ‘Moving the Marker Ahead,’ as Birmingham continues to progress,” Morgan stated. “We’re heading in the correct direction, and my aim is to ensure both our residents and people worldwide recognize this.
Historically, Kelly Ingram Park was a gathering place for protests and demonstrations during the 1960s when organizations such as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights, and participants in the Children’s Crusade held their activities here. The park sits just across the street from both the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church, which gained notoriety after four young girls lost their lives due to a bombing carried out by a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
Currently, owing to its deep historical ties and striking monuments illustrating the fight for civil rights in Birmingham, the park will keep promoting significant concepts that reshape the globe, according to Morgan.
Morgan, who serves as the vice president of workforce readiness at the Birmingham chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, expressed his desire to provide individuals from various backgrounds with the chance to voice their significant concepts.
“This is an occasion aimed at fostering learning, growth, and networking among attendees. I want everyone to understand that greater opportunities are heading to Birmingham,” Morgan stated.

Our speakers keep advancing and thriving in their individual careers while also making a significant impact on the community; some people attribute this growth to TEDx.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TEDxBirmingham has been temporarily suspended. Hamilton mentioned that the lecture series might return at some point in the future.
