Some of
the top material available on YouTube
happens when really smart people do really stupid stuff. We have a case of that here today with
former Jalop SuperfastMatt
‘s flying RV. If you’re familiar with his channel, you’ll know that
Matt doesn’t do anything in half measures
When his Ford tow vehicle equipped with a Triton V10 engine was largely ruined due to corrosion from an exceptionally damp year at
the Bonneville Salt Flats
He momentarily considered refurbishing and then reselling it before shifting gears towards something far more enjoyable. Why not?
toss it over a cliff
to a destructive demise?
We recently covered
Matt’s remote control Smart Car
He took out the remote control setup from the Smart car and set it up in the recreational vehicle, importantly ensuring he wouldn’t have to stay inside when it launched towards distant realms. After securing a place eager both to lease him a slope for leaping with the RV and handling whatever came after, things were all systems go. As long as he did just enough to make the RV drivable once more—which involved slicing open the flooring to reach the rust-eaten gearshift—the truck could never really stall since the Triton V10 engine keeps going no matter what.
My words alone cannot fully ready you for what lies ahead. You will need to press play and witness this chaos unravel firsthand. This spectacle is sheer devastation purely for the sake of dismantling.

Crank It Up!
Generally, I tend to frown upon the reckless disposal of functional vehicles, but this particular RV is far from satisfactory, making it more worthwhile as scrap material for entertainment purposes. In SuperfastMatt’s video, which you can view above, despite pushing the RV off a cliff and smashing its front end into a hillside, the team managed to get the vehicle upright again using just three wheels—and surprisingly, it still ran smoothly. The transmission engaged, allowing it to move forward, although its capability off-road was considerably reduced. This showcases the remarkable durability of Ford’s Triton V10 engine—the true survivor and workhorse among cars. For reference, during my time owning a comparable model E350 Super Duty equipped with a 6-liter diesel engine, that vehicle barely functioned properly when subjected to minimal demands. While regrettable, the poor fuel efficiency of the V10 remains an issue.
Did Matt create this video where he utterly destroys his own RV just to subtly promote an action camera? Absolutely. Should every single action camera commercial follow suit from now on? You bet your bottom dollar they should.
