EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) —
UTEP softball played its way to a 7-3 win over New Mexico in a non-conference game at the Lobo Softball Field in Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday.
With the win on Tuesday, UTEP is now riding a five-game winning streak. It’s the Miners’ second five-game winning streak of the season. The last time UTEP put together five straight wins was during the Dr. Diana Natalicio Memorial Tournament back in February.
UTEP’s Ajia Richard went 3-for-4 and had two runs batted in during Tuesday’s contest. Richard hit a two-run home run to centerfield in the top of the 3rd to give UTEP a 3-1 lead.
UTEP’s Anisa Reynolds got the win after she pitched four innings, allowed nine hits and two earned runs. Audrey Gallegos was credited with the save, her first of the season, after she pitched a scoreless last three innings of the game.
UTEP went 2-0 against New Mexico this season.
Up next, UTEP will play its final home series of the 2025 season. The Miners will take on Kennesaw State in a three-game Conference USA series at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex.
